How adorable is that?

I have a Switchfoot T-shirt with that same print on it. hahah.

lyrics of vice verses

The wonderful Jeanna posted the lyrics of VV that Jon sent her on the boards.
This song deserves a re-post. hah.

VICE VERSES

Walking along the high tide line
Watching the pacific from the sidelines
Wonder what it means to live together?
Looking for more than just guidelines

Looking for signs in the night sky,
Wishing that I wasn’t such a nice guy
Wonder what it means to live forever?
Wonder what it means to die?

- Chorus -
I know that there's a meaning to it all
A little resurrection every time I fall
You got your babies, I got my hearses
Every blessing comes with a set of curses
I got my vices, I got my vice verses
I got my vice verses

The wind could be my new obsession
The wind could be my new depression
The wind goes anywhere it wants to
Wishing that I learned my lesson

The ocean sounds like a garage band
Coming at me like a drunk man
The ocean tells me a thousand stories
None of them are lies

- Chorus -
I know that there's a meaning to it all
A little resurrection every time I fall
You got your babies, I got my hearses
Every blessing comes with a set of curses
I got my vices, I got my vice verses
I got my vice verses

Let the pacific laugh
Be on my epitaph
With it's rising and falling
And after all, it's just water
And I am just soul
With a body of water and bones
Water and bones

Where is God in the night sky?
Where is God in the city light?
Where is God in the earthquake?
Where is God in the genocide?

Where are you in my broken heart?
Everything seems to fall apart
Everything feels rusted over
Tell me that you're there

- Chorus -
I know that there's a meaning to it all
A little resurrection every time I fall
You got your babies, I got my hearses
Every blessing comes with a set of curses
I got my vices, I got my vice verses
These are my vice verses
These are my vice verses

Yeah
These are my vice verses
Oh yeahhhh. I forgot to mention. My little brother is terribly sick and feverish. I touched his cheek and it was like a million degrees. Not that much, but it was wayyy hot, I'd even say the hottest fever I've ever felt. And he threw up his dinner after drinking water..... isn't water supposed to help the food go down?! mehh.

You know something is wrong with Tee Ming when he's not talking or complaining about how much money someone has spent. :P :/ :(

Poor him.
My blog visitor counter reached 1000.

So my MP3's screwed, together with all the 4 or 5GB worth of songs in there. :/ So after after being deprived of my mp3 format songs, and only listening to the original CDs on my rack, I remembered that I have some CDs that I burned with most, not all, of the songs that were in my mp3. Of course the songs that I just added to my mp3 within the period of the last 5 or so months were not on these CDs, but oh well. The songs I'm listening to now are just as good.

*I Love You- Sanctus Real*

I've decided that I need to have at least ONE picture in each of my blog posts from now on, to brighten things up a lil. :P

Por por called. So I went downstairs to give mom the phone. Saw a jar of jelly beans. Took one. Put it in my mouth. Saw a tupperware of pasta that my mom had abandoned temporarily while on the phone, ate a spoonful of it while the jelly bean was still in my mouth.

+ [insert picture of tasty lookin yellow jelly bean here]

oh yeahhh. I have that habit of not finishing the food in my mouth before putting more food in. So there's your 'thing I did not know about Ai Lyn' thing for today. :)

hmmmm

You're looking for something you can't find
If you give it up you'll lose your mind
There's always something in the way
What can you say?
You're gonna have a good day.

Good Day- The Click Five

Ah yes. I'm going through all the old songs that I haven't listened to in forever.
I like this song, I used to listen to it over and over again because it was so catchy. I sang along to it a billion times, but I never took the time to look at the lyrics and try to make sense of it. To make it mean something to me.

Uhhh. I'm not sure what those words mean to me. I think I get the general message/feeling it's trying to convey, but it doesn't fully make sense to me. Ah well. I'll just leave it, and go and have a good day (of pure confusion). :)

Also, I listened to all (well the ones on this computer anyway) the old Jonas Brothers songs I used to listen to. No, not that Burnin' Up crap. Songs like You Just Don't Know It and Time For Me To Fly ( :o When I tried typing 'time' the first time, it came out as 'Tim'. and then when I typed 'for' I typed Fore instead. LOL. Heh. You'd get this is you know SF.)

Neway, I love these songs. *wub*
Why did I suddenly decide to listen to all these old songs that I had abandoned for a while?

Because my MP3 player has been spoiled for like a few weeks now, and my radio has been taken to May Lyn's room since last month and I don't have a radio in my room anymore.

I hope I can still get my songs from my MP3 player, because I don't have a back up of some of the songs in there. :(

feels like listening to: the rocket summer

Glen Hansard - Falling Slowly Lyrics

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along

Kris Allen sang this song for last week's American Idol and I am loving it.

Here the original version.

I'm excited. They're showing the movie 'Once' on Star Movies tomorrow night. (which is the movie the song is from)

'I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that'

Ai just took the The First Letter Of Your Lover... quiz and got the result: J, S, Z, Y, U..

Yes, I was bored enough to take this ridiculous quiz.

You KNOW it's so STUPID and that your answers to the quesions have absolutely no relation to who 'your lover' is but you still take the quiz. Bahahahah. But yes, I was bored, and the link was right in front of me. Though, why I'm archiving the results on my blog, I don't know why.

I think I'm a little amused by it, that's all.

OH MY CAMERA

listening to: Oh! Gravity- Switchfoot, album: The Best Yet

The most unbelievable thing just happened.

My new incredibly expensive camera that cost a lot of my parents' hard earned money...
FELL DOWN THE STAIRS.

srsly. it did.

And no, it didn't just drop on one step, it had to BOUNCE ALL THE WAY FROM THE TOP OF THE STAIRCASE ALL THE WAY DOWN STAIRS.

Really, it bounced, but don't imagine the whole 'toink toink' bouncing sound. Because everytime it hit a step (I think it bounced at least 3 times) it went 'THUD. THUD.' like really loud. really really really loud (because this camera is REALLY bulky and heavy). I thought I was SCREWED.

'...... no way the camera is okay.'

I totally FROZE as I was at the top of the staircase watching my camera bounce down the stairs. And then when it finally stopped crashing/bouncing, I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed that what had just happened did NOT just happen. And that when I opened my eyes I would have gone back like 5 minutes to the past and the camera would not have just crashed down the stairs.

But of course when I opened my eyes, the camera was still lying there, at the bottom of the staircase. (the camera even managed to knock down this big fake plastic stand of flowers on its way down the stairs)

I can be such an idiot.

Of course, this was entirely my fault. I put the camera in my bag and I didn't zip the bag up properly. And the zip sort of unzipped and I noticed that the camera was about to fall out so I was about to reach for the camera when... IT HAPPENED.

:(

..... but guess what?

After yelling for my dad, and Tee Ming came out of the room to see what happened, I checked the camera expecting the worst (but hoping that it was okay, even though it seemed impossible) and well the first thing I saw was the the battery cover was displaced, so I pushed it back into place. Not broken, or anything. I checked the rest of the camera and there WASN'T A SINGLE SCRATCH. The lens looked PERFECTLY FINE (even though the lens cover came off when the camera first bounced). I say looked, because I'm scared there might be some internal thing that is spoiled. Anyway, everything looks FINE. Again, I'm terrible scared that something inside the camera might be spoiled, but till now nothing seems to be wrong.
I turned the power on and the camera could still work.

THANK YOU GOD.

I can seriously vow and swear that this (
Canon Powershot SX 1 IS) is the TOUGHEST camera you will ever find.

TODAY (yet another long rambling.... with some personality test results analysis)

Today.... let's see

I woke up at 10 am something. Thank you Mr. Alarm Clock which is usually not loud enough to wake me up on week day mornings.

I ate a pancake. Yummm.
Drank milk. ( I wonder if drinking milk is the reason I'm sleepy in the mornings. Because Miss Ho (My violin teacher), or as what I've recently taken the liking to calling her, Mis Sho ( but I believe she threatened to strangle me if I ever call her that again (oh how I love how many brackets I have within this bracket), says that milk makes its drinker sleepy. I think I read that in Reader's Digest too. (but Reader's Digest is crap nowadays. And RD is also the reason why my sister believes that:
1. Sleeping can help you lose weight.
2. Eating... um I can't remember what it was, but whatever it was, if you eat it, you'll lose weight too. Whatever it is, it's pretty ridiculous.
Sooooooo, back to the milk thing, I asked my mom if drinking milk makes someone sleepy and she said no.

So I don't know whether drinking milk makes people sleepy or not.

But even if milk is the reason why I'm so sleepy in the mornings after drinking milk, then heck with it. NOTHING WILL TAKE ME AWAY FROM MY FRESH MILK. Even if it's the lousy Malaysian milk. I even drink milk for lunch and dinner when my friends don't drink milk at all. But I'M the one who ends up with bone aches. Hahah.

------

I plopped myself on the sofa and watched TV for a REALLY LONG TIME. Which I shouldn't have done. Because I have mid year exams in 4 weeks. And a GEO kerja kursus which is due next monday, but I haven't even touched it.

I watched the Kid's Choice Awards. :DDDDDD
Which yes, was shown in the US like a month or two ago I think, and premiered in Asia on Sunday earlier this week. So I'm watching it really late. But whatever. It was so coooooool. I think I still have a right to like the KCA, being 14 and all. I'll have that right forever actually, so when I'm 18 and watching the Kid's Choice Awards, don't mock me! :P

Things I noticed about this year's Kid's Choice Awards:

1. Dwayne Johnson, the host. I believe he was shirtless 70% of the time he was on stage. Bleahhh.

2. How everybody on stage keep saying 'the kids' or 'you kids'. hahahah. Even though some of them themselves are still kids.

3. David Archuleta. *wub* I know, it's sick how fangirlish I am of him. But please let me swoon here, it's my blog afterall. :P
Let's see, he was sitting in between both his parents (cue 'aww') and when they announced AI as the winner for Best Reality Show or something he was all 'Should I go up?' (2nd cue for 'awww'.) and then, I think his hands were really sweaty or something so when he went up on stage to get the blimp, with Paula Abdul, he was shaking hands with the presenters of the awards and everything, and he was shaking (okay... I don't know how to say it. Like when your hands are wet you'll sort of wave it, no wait wrong word, uhhh, shake it?.... to get your hands to dry) his hands and he was all 'Sorry, my hands are all sweaty!' to the big buff dude, John Cena. And he was wiping his hands on his shirt (when I typed that out, it actually sounds disgusting... I don't know, it's just really funny and david-ish how he was doing that on stage and all) and the John dude was all 'hahaha, it's okay'. (aww)

Yes, I know I put in a lot of unnecessary 'aww's.

:)
anyway. he was being the awkward funny humble and not-celebrityish person that we all love so much. hah.

I can't believe I just wrote an entire paragraph on David Archuleta. Gosh.

4. The Jonas Brothers are like the opposite of David. Except Kevin o course. Nick and Joe are so.... diva-ish. Or maybe they're just really nervous about speaking in front of such a loud crowd and so they were trying to sound professional and all in their thank you speech. Awh.

5. I loved the animated cartoon burping thingy. LOL. I don't find burping funny or anything, it was the other quips during the burping contest that I found funny.

6. I like that they now (or did they have it before?) have a Favourite Book category. :)

Me thinks that's it.

After watching KCA, I watched Look Who's Talking. That was cool. The baby's were cute. But Julie in Look Who's Talking Too takes the cake for me.

Ahhh. I need to stop blogging about stupid materialistic but fun stuff. (but that doesn't mean I'll actually stop forever. hahah. I just meant that I have to stop now, because I have to go to bed now.)

Goose Night!

edit: Oh wait, after I published this I noticed that I completely blew on the whole analysis of my personality test results, which I have been meaning to do for a long time, so yeah. heh. maybe next time.

Friday, April 17, 2009

I would prefer posting my 'status updates' over here than on facebook. Because over here I can make my statements as long as I want. :P

I have to go for 2 HOURS of BM tuition in about 1 and a half hours. :( I really can't handle BM, I mean I'm thankful that I know enough BM to be able to speak with my malay friends, but srsly, all these karangans and karangans and karangans. I can't TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Change gonna come...

So I've made some changes to my blog's layout and appearance. Yes. What once was on the left is now on the right and what was once on the right is not on the left. Why? I figured that... well it's hard to explain really..
that if the start of all my sentences (in my blog posts) were in the middle, it would be easier to read. :)

And also, the background colour of my blog has changed. Didn't you notice? It's now a
LIGHTER black. Hahah. And my text colour is also a DARKER white. I'm not joking, I'm just probably using wrong colour terms, that's all. :D

I'm also resoluting to make a more suitable banner to use as my header. The Paint Shop Pro window has been open for about an hour now with an empty canvas.....

ps: yes, I realise that I used a song title with a real deep meaning to it as the title of this small trivial post. heheh. sorry.

Ramblings...

I've got a blocked nose. Heh. Vicks helped for a while and then my nose got all stuffy again. Mehhh. DOH.

Anyway, today....

I was on time, JUST on time to school again as usual. Heh. And dad's new found short cut [or rather long cut, because it's really a longer route just that it takes less time to go to school that way because it has less traffic lights than our usual route which has like a billion and one traffic lights mostly for pedestrians, but whatever]. And, yeah, we reached school at 7:35 I think. Which is when the bell should've rang.

First period was PJ (Pendidikan Jasmani/ Physical Education)
Tell me WHYYY do we have to write and sing a poem/tuneless song for PJ? Is it PHYSICAL in any way at all? Nope. I think my group got 1 out of 10 or something for our presentation of our poem. Because Pritam didn't like it at all. Heh.

Next was two glorious periods of Chinese. Didn't really have a proper lesson today because Pn. Farm and the other chinese girls were looking for a Chinese song for our class to sing for the Chinese Singing Competition for Minggu Bahasa next week. So while I was doing my math tuition homework, I was treated to the sounds of Cantopop-ish sounding music. I believe I even heard a chinese rendition of some ol mambo song and also High School Musical's Bet On It. HAH. And then there was this cool one, which was all soft and sad and apparently, according to my teacher, was saying something along the lines of 'when I see your face again after 1000 years' or something like that. Hahah. But the rest of the class thought it was too sad and slow for us to sing so, oh well. I'm not sure what they ended up deciding on though, so yes, I believe this Chinese Singing Competition thingy will be the first time I'm actually getting up on stage in school and singing. Hah. This is going to be rich. And I can't believe I actually VOLUNTEERED for it. I mean, if you know me, you know that I NEVER [the term here being used a bit loosely] EVER like or willingly sing in front of a crowd or anything. I don't join my friends when they're presenting a song for Easter, I have not performed in a choir since that time, you know a really long time ago when our church had this Christmas Choir and they needed some kids to sing a few lines for this one song, and I remember going all the way to Taiping to sing with the choir, but that was totally cool, because they gave us these cool glow sticks to hold and we kids had SO much fun playing together after we had rehearsed or performed that small little part we sang in that ONE song, so YES, that was incredibly fun, and I will never forget that night after we sang in Taiping when we went INSANE with the glow sticks.... and um, slippers? if I remember correctly. Hahah.

Oh gosh I can get so sidetracked sometimes.

Anyway. Yes. So I'm sort of kind of okay with this whole Chinese singing thing because I'm going to be singing with like 20++ of my classmates. So it's cool.

Yes. So after Chinese was English. And Asmimi ( Oh how I love that we students call our teachers by their not-so-formal names when they can't hear us. Of course there was that one time when a teacher came into our class and asked who was the teacher who entered our class before her and so I blurted out 'Kamalambal' without thinking. Heeeeeehhhh. ) gave us a little too much time to do some grammar exercises from a workbook. And I also found out that the Spelling Bee she'd been telling us to sign up for was actually only for the Form 4s, and also that the Spelling Bee was over already. Hah. And she was all 'I can't believe we lost in SPELLING' (she's saying this in reference to the fact that our school lost in the spelling bee to another school) when she can't spell ecstatic, and writes off the word 'burly' as an adverb because it has a '-ly' at the back. Seriously. I understand no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. But she refuses to admit that she has made a mistake. It stinks, really.

And after English was our extremely short 20 minute break, and after that was Math. Math was great as usual. Mr. Ooi is THE BOMB.
Except for when he makes my friends repeat 300 times the correction for their math mistake. ( Though I know it's for our own good. Because he's taught to NOT do something but we end up carelessly making that same stupid mistake. And this way maybe we'll actually remember not to make the same mistake) It is kind of funny. But sad too. Heheh.

After English was KH, and I had to find Pn Suriyati (as newly elected assistant monitor, heh, though I had to do the monitor's duties today on my first day of being the assistant. heh. The monitor was absent today. O.o I keep forgetting that I am, but good thing I have Gartinne to keep reminding me ;) ) as usual, because she never seems to remember when she has classes, and as usual she was in the canteen, chatting with her colleagues.

And after KH was IT. I couldn't present my slides because the rest of my group was absent. So I spent some time browsing the LaSalle College of Arts website and looked at all the admission requirement and also found out that application fees can be SO EXPENSIVE (srsly, 125 singaporean dollars?!?).

And then I went to the car, with a 10 kg load on my shoulders, to find out that my little brother complaining about being famished. Hah. He totally wanted to go into my school to buy some snacks, but then he ran the WRONG WAY, as in he'd only have to run like 10 metres to the right to reach the school entrance, but nooooooo, he ran for like 50 metres to the left and only after reaching the end of that path did he realise that he'd been running the wrong way the whole time. HAHAHA. And so he had to run all the way back to the car, and by then he was too tired to run into the school to buy himself a snack. LOL.

I'm thirsty. Aaaack. Oh look! A bottle of water! *drinks*

I do not love how my blog posts never have a main idea that would make it easier for whoever reads this to be focused on. Hehhhhh. Gosh, I have the most unreadable blog EVER. hahah.

Also, Nat's semi-final Georgian Idol performance was today, but I couldn't stay back to watch her. :( I hope she did well. I even saw her when I was rushing to go home but I wasn't expecting to see her so I was going to say 'hi' and then I saw a guitar on her back and I was like ':o' 'what's that doing there?' and then I realised it was for her performance and I was like 'ohhh' but by then she'd already walked past me so, heh, sorry, Nat, for the lack of friendliness. heheh.

Also, something I should've mention like at the beginning of this post
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KONG KONG/KUNG KUNG/GONG GONG!

It's his 73rd birthday! Go Kung Kung! HAIII if you ever get a computer with Internet access and find out my blog address and actually see this post dedicated to youuuuuuuuuuu.

I loved what you said about being thankful when you wake up every morning and see the 'whaat ah, uh, the SUN'.

Love you, Kung!

duuuude. I need to get my life straightened out because recently:

- I have too many unfinished [most of them HALF finished] homework that are WAYYYY overdue. and for some reason I can't get myself to finish it.

- I skipped karate on Monday.

- I skipped school today because I have a sore throat.

- THAT, resulting in me losing I think 5 MARKS for Moral mid year marks because I didn't get to do my presentation due to my absence [ my sick letter is totally legit and true, btw, but of course I don't think the teacher is going to believe it due to all the other bogus sick letters out there ]

- PMR trials are in... 3 months? and I still haven't been following a revision schedule and so I think I am incredibly behind in my revision for 7 subjects, each 3 years worth of facts.

- My addiction to teenage novels is getting pretty unhealthy. Because I've been reading instead of doing my homework.

- my wanting to sleep all the time... and then not sleep when I'm supposed to sleep.

- and most importantly, my lack of discipline causing me to have not read the Bible and doing my quiet time in the past few days. I'm terrible. Terrible, I tell you.

this sore throat is killing me. and I have to go to school tomorrow.

can't shake this feeeeeeling

I FEEL LIKE JUMPING UP AND DOWN [i did do so just now, and i ran up and down the stairs, but i still feel like jumping heheh].
my friend just won two tickets to david archuleta's concert here which is 5 hours away from where I live.
my parents are like 'why are you so excited? YOU didn't win the tickets'
I have no idea why. hahahah. I'm so influenced by the things around me, and what is happening in other peoples lives. If someone is sad, I get sad, if something good happened to someone, I get happy. it's weird. haha.

[i totally just copy and pasted that from my post on the boards. i was too lazy to type it out again.
